A sad farewell to our friend Alan Williams

Alan Williams

Alan Williams died on 6th July 2022 at Pembury Hospital after a short illness.   He spent just a week in the hospital where he received compassionate care, in a calm and comfortable environment.  He was able to spend quality time with his immediate family and to enjoy the visits of his oldest and closest friends.   The hospital staff treated him with dignity and respect and, like many residents of Hollingbourne, generously laughed at the same old jokes.

Alan’s cortege will be leaving the Hollingbourne Church tomorrow (10th August 2022) 1.30pm for the journey to Vinters Crematorium.

The funeral is a private service, on the request of Val and the family.   However, your support and kind wishes are much appreciated at this sad time.

The family are looking to have an open door memorial service in Hollingbourne Church, within the next few weeks, but no details are available at present.

It will be Alan’s final trip down the village and so he and the family will be travelling slowly.
