Volunteer role at Hucking Estate

The Woodland Trust is one of the UK’s leading conservation charities. They have over 500,000 members and supporters and more than 1,000 sites all over the UK. They believe life’s better with trees. They protect and campaign on behalf of the UK’s woods, plant more trees, and restore ancient woodland, for the benefit of wildlife and people. They are currently recruiting for an exciting new visitor-facing role at our estate at Hucking, near Maidstone, committing between 10 – 15 hours per month.

Woodland Welcomers will meet and greet visitors during busy periods at the woods (mainly bank holidays and school holidays). Volunteers will be helping visitors understand more about the woodland you are based at, and what makes it special and provide information about the site to enhance their visit. Welcomers will also promote positive messaging by encouraging visitors to follow site-specific guidance. Full training is provided.

If you enjoy meeting new people and want to help us look after this special site, please register your interest by emailing SEVolunteering@woodlandtrust.org.uk
