Get Involved in Research  – building research capacity in Adult Social Care

Kent County Council Adult Social Care with the University of Kent, supported by a number of partners have secured funding for a project that will help build capacity and develop a positive culture of research. Research in social care is very important as it can inform social work practice and improve outcomes for people.

We’re looking for 8-9 people with lived experience of social care to join a working group that help shape and deliver this exciting opportunity for Kent.  Please see the attached flyer with more information on participants roles and responsibilities.  We have provisionally booked 27 September, 10-11am for the first meeting.

More information on how to get involved and contact details can be found in the attached poster.

KARA video carephone celebration event

Join us as at our online event on Tuesday 14th September, 9:00 – 11:00am to find out what is KARA, how far we have come and hear from providers, practitioners and people using KARA on their experiences so far.

There will also be opportunities on how you can get involved with plans for the future.  More information can be found in the attached posted.

AskSARA online advice tool – we need your feedback

AskSARA system is an online-triaging tool developed by national charity the Disabled Living Foundation, to help people gain impartial advice about their own daily needs by answering some short questions about their situation.

There are over 90 daily living topics on AskSARA on health, home and daily activities and it can be used for guidance on selecting a simple aid to daily living for self-purchase, for people who receive a direct payment for an item of equipment and who want to know more about the item they intend to purchase, or for people who do not meet financial eligibility criteria for services, such as telecare.

We would like to hear your feedback on using AskSARA as a support tool to find reliable advice around technology and equipment. We would like you to tell us how easy you found it to use, did it provide you with useable and useful results and was it accessible?

The test website for AskSARA can be found at https://kent.livingmadeeasy.org.uk/

Please send your feedback to Tecs@kent.gov.uk by Friday 3 September 2021.
