Dear All,
I have just received below from Kent Highways regarding the SEW works on Eyhorne Street. Like officers, I too am so sorry to be the bearer of bad news – especially when we all felt so optimistic about an early finish this time yesterday – but you will see from the note in yellow that nobody could have legislated for the unknown obstacle.
I have asked Officers to monitor these works with SEW to ensure completion is sooner rather than later and have also asked for an update on the emergency water leak works at Swanton Street which is part of the diversion route.
Could I please ask your help in relaying this information widely to residents – whether by putting this note up on your website or via any social media channels. I know they will be very frustrated – as I am – and any complaints should be raised with South East Water on 03330 000 001 or by email on Community@Southeastwater.co.uk – these are their works and they are responsible for managing all aspects of it.
Once again, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I can assure you that sorting this has been top of my priority list for the best part of this last week and I really did not expect to be in this position at this stage and at the start of this long bank holiday weekend.
Kind regards
Shellina
